Description

Being the go-to teen at her family's ice-cream shop keeps Sierra constantly on the move, and her schedule only gets fuller when she's recruited as the lead singer of a new band. Between after-school sports, work shifts, and the pressure of rehearsal, she wonders if she's taking on more than she can realistically handle. The story follows Sierra as she tries to juggle her many commitments and discovers what it really means to balance her passions with her limits. Sierra must decide whether to keep adding responsibilities or learn to set boundaries before everything falls apart.

Quick Summary

Sierra's got a lot going on swim team, art club, homework so when she gets the chance to be lead singer in a band, she's torn between chasing her dream and spreading herself too thin. It's that classic middle school dilemma of wanting to do everything, told with a lot of humor and heart. Kids who struggle with saying no, or who are juggling a million activities, will really see themselves in Sierra's situation. The book hits on real stuff like figuring out your priorities and learning that it's okay to not be amazing at every single thing you try. There's also a fun music element running through the story that gives it extra energy. This would be a great pick for readers who liked "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" or anyone who enjoys stories about navigating friend drama and figuring out who you are. Parents will appreciate that it's genuinely funny without being mean-spirited, and there's a sweet message underneath the chaos that doesn't feel preachy. At around 29,000 words it's a solid middle grade read not too short, not intimidating.
