Quick Summary

If you're hunting for a mystery that puts you right in the heart of New York City with a pair of quick-witted kids, Shadowsea delivers the goods. Kids who love puzzles, secret codes, and a dash of danger will zip through the pages, and even reluctant readers often get hooked by the fast-paced chase and the funny banter between Lily and Robert. Parents will appreciate that the scares are mostly thrilling rather than gruesome a few tense moments in dark alleys, but nothing that crosses the line into nightmares. The plot follows Lily and Robert as they ditch the typical tourist itinerary to help a mysterious boy in their hotel, racing through Manhattan's streets, cracking hidden clues, and outsmarting some shady adults to stay one step ahead of danger. What makes Shadowsea stand out is the way it blends iconic New York scenery with a kid-powered mystery that feels both fresh and exciting, while the jokes and heartfelt friendship keep the story light. If you've enjoyed the clever sleuthing of The Secret Series or the witty adventure in the "Ivy & Bean" books, you'll feel right at home with Shadowsea.
