Description

Amber's newest Temp Lifer mission drops her into the body of her boyfriend's twenty-one-year-old sister, a woman who's isolated herself after an accidental encounter with a Dark Lifer. With spring break approaching, the sister is headed for a wild vacation, but a relentless stalker and a dangerous Dark Lifer are closing in, forcing Amber to step in and protect her. She must navigate unfamiliar relationships, uncover the source of the threat, and deal with the mature complications that arise. The second book in the Dead Girl series blends supernatural body-swapping with tense, suspenseful conflict.

Quick Summary

If you're into paranormal stories with a twist, this one's pretty fun Amber gets stuck swapping bodies with her boyfriend's sister, who's basically a human wall after some creepy experience with a Dark Lifer, and she has to figure out how to break through and fix things. It's the second book in a series, so there's that whole mystery of how the Temp Lifer/Dark Lifer world works that keeps building, and the body-swapping premise gives it a fresh take on the whole "walking in someone else's shoes" thing. Kids who like supernatural mysteries or maybe series like "The Mortal Instruments" will probably get into it, though this one leans more toward the YA thriller side. Parents should know there's some sexual content mentioned, so it's probably better suited for older teens in that upper high school range rather than younger readers. The body-switching setup creates some genuinely awkward and funny situations, but there's also real stakes and emotional stuff happening underneath. It's a quick read that keeps you guessing, and if you like it, you can jump into the rest of the series and see where the whole Temp Lifer concept goes.
