Quick Summary

If you've got a kid who's ever had a friend move away, Gilbert the Shark is going to hit them right in the feels. Gilbert and his tiny pal Raymond are an unlikely duo one big shark and one little fish so when Raymond's family up and moves, Gilbert is absolutely devastated. The story follows Gilbert as he mopes around the ocean, trying to figure out how to cope with missing someone so much, and eventually finds a sweet way to honor their friendship. It's got that perfect mix of silly shark humor and genuine heart that makes it work for both kids who just want a funny animal story and ones who need help processing big emotions about friends moving away. Parents will appreciate that it doesn't lecture; it just lets the feeling breathe. If your kid loved something like The Invisible Boy or a good Elephant and Piggie friendship story, this is a wonderful next pick, especially for kids in kindergarten through third grade.
