Description

Digory and Polly, two friends in London, discover a pair of enchanted rings that can transport them to other worlds, in this sixth installment of C. S. Lewis's Chronicles of Narnia. When they accidentally summon the wicked witch Jadis, she follows them back to Earth, and the magical mix-up drops them into Narnia just as Aslan creates it, granting the animals the gift of speech. The children must now outwit Jadis, restore the magical order, and protect the fledgling world from her schemes.

Quick Summary

If you love a story that feels like a grand adventure but also like a bedtime tale about the very first day of a magical world, then this one's for you. Digory and Polly aren't just ordinary kids they get to be part of the moment Narnia is sung into existence by Aslan, and they have to deal with a mischievous witch, a meddling magician uncle, and a whole lot of talking animals. It's a wonderful mix of wonder, humor, and a few moments that might make younger readers hold their breath, especially when the witch appears in a dark London street. Kids who like imaginative worlds, gentle puzzles, and brave friendship will find a lot to love, and parents will appreciate the gentle lessons about doing the right thing. If you're already a fan of C.S. Lewis's other Narnia books, this one gives you the backstory you didn't know you needed, and if you enjoy a story that feels like a classic fairy tale with a modern twist, it's a great companion to The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.
