Description

All Chris really wants is to be a normal kid, unfortunately Chris appears to be turning into a vampire.

Quick Summary

If you've ever felt like you don't fit in, "Thirsty" by M.T. Anderson will hit different. Chris is a regular high schooler who slowly realizes he's becoming a vampire, and instead of leaning into the cool vampire tropes, the book goes for dark comedy that actually makes you laugh out loud while also getting genuinely creepy in parts. Anderson writes teen voices really well, so it feels authentic to that awkward, desperate-to-be-normal phase. Fans of "Goosebumps" who are ready for something with more wit, or anyone who loved "The Last Kids on Earth," will probably devour this. There's some light horror and gross vampire stuff (think blood cravings), but it's handled with enough humor that it doesn't feel overwhelming. It's got that perfect mix of scary and funny that keeps you turning pages, and the ending actually stuck with me.
