Description
When Doctor Badd launches a scheme to create the Fellowship Against Reading Texts (F.A.R.T.) and wipe out books everywhere, the Secret Library Service turns to a reluctant middle-schooler, Kian Reader, and his friends Asif and Prissy, to stop him. The story blends humor, spy intrigue, and a battle for the future of reading.
Quick Summary
The title alone Spybrarian should give you a clue that this is one of those delightfully weird middle-grade books that kids actually ask to read again. Think librarian meets secret agent, and you've got the vibe: books, mystery, maybe some goofy gadgets, and probably a kid protagonist who stumbles into something way bigger than overdue book fees. The 4.6 AR level means the vocabulary and sentence structure are accessible but not babyish, making it a solid choice for kids in grades 4-6 (and some 7-8 readers who want a lighter, fun read). There's likely humor woven throughout since the premise itself is playful, and probably some genuine tension or adventure to keep pages turning. Parents will appreciate that it's packed with book-love and maybe a little subtle encouragement for reluctant readers. If your kid enjoyed books like "The Pagemaster" or Diary of a Wimpy Kid, this could hit the sweet spot funny enough to hook them, but with enough substance to feel satisfying.
