Quick Summary

Kids who love ocean mysteries and dinosaurs will get a kick out of Snorkelling with the Saw Shark. The story follows Jamie and Tom as they are on a boat with their friend Wanna, who spots some bizarre Permian sea creatures, only to get the attention of a couple of saw-sharks that decide to follow them. The boys have to think fast, using some clever tricks to lure the sharks away while trying to rescue Wanna before things get too hairy. It's a fast-paced adventure that mixes a little science about prehistoric sharks with enough humor to keep the tension from becoming too scary, making it perfect for readers who like a mix of action and learning. Because the whole thing is only about 5,000 words, it's a great choice for reluctant readers or a quick read-aloud for a classroom, and it's easy to finish in one sitting. If your child enjoys books like the Magic Tree House series or anything with a dash of prehistoric intrigue, this short but lively story will probably hit the spot.
