Quick Summary
If you've got a kid who's into spy stuff or graphic novels, this one's a solid pick. It's actually a retelling of Charlie Higson's *SilverFin*, but told in graphic novel form, which makes it way more accessible for younger readers (the AR level is 2.1, so pretty approachable). The story follows a young James Bond at Eton before he was 007 when he and a kid named Red get tangled up in a mystery in Scotland involving Red's missing cousin. There's some spooky stuff going on in a loch, secret labs, and a shady villain, so it's got that creepy-but-fun vibe that keeps pages turning. It's a quick read (under 5,000 words), which makes it perfect for reluctant readers or kids who want something fun without committing to a giant novel. Parents will appreciate that it's got that classic spy adventure feel without anything too intense just enough danger to feel exciting. Fans of other graphic novel adaptations or kids who like mysteries like *Encyclopedia Brown* or *Cam Jansen* will probably gravitate toward this one.
