Quick Summary
A grumpy dad, a sarcastic kid, and a quirky bed and breakfast forced to become roommates for three months creates the perfect recipe for chaos and heartwarming moments that kids won't be able to put down. The story bursts with hilarious mishaps like botched breakfast service, eccentric guests, and the ongoing battle of father and son learning to actually enjoy each other's company without the distraction of their busy lives. If your kid loves books like Kate Klise's "Regarding the Fountain" or wants something with the same family-drama-meets-comedy vibe as "The One and Only Ivan," this delivers that perfect blend of humor and heart. This is an ideal pick for fourth through seventh graders who enjoy stories about unlikely friendships and family reconciliation wrapped in lighthearted, accessible storytelling.
