Description

A quirky fundraiser dog wash at Lugenheimer Elementary becomes the stage for an interplanetary canine invasion. When alien dogs arrive planning to claim the students as pets for their home planet Bowwowwowwow, it's up to Bob, his classmate Clementine, and their superhero pal Hot Dog to stop the slobbery scheme. The trio must use quick thinking and heroic tricks to outsmart the otherworldly pooches and save their school. This is the fifth installment in a lively adventure series.

Quick Summary

If you've got a kid who thinks chapter books are boring, hand them this one. Hot Dog and Bob is one of those silly, fast-paced series where the jokes hit hard and the story never gives you time to get bored perfect for newly independent readers or anyone who loves a good giggle. The premise alone (alien dogs abducting humans as pets during a school dog wash fundraiser) tells you this isn't a book that plays it safe, and the AR level sitting at 4.1 means the vocabulary is approachable while the story still feels like a real adventure. There's a superhero dog, a couple of quick-thinking kids, and genuinely funny moments your reader will be laughing out loud one minute and rooting hard for the heroes the next. Parents will appreciate that it celebrates teamwork and brains over brawn, and there's nothing too scary going on just enough silly tension to keep things exciting without crossing into nightmare territory. If your kid devours this, point them toward the other Hot Dog and Bob books, because once they meet this duo, they'll want to stay on the planet for the whole series.
