Description

When the Academy's regular fairy is away, substitute fairy Angora steps in, but her clumsy wishes soon create a tangled mess that threatens the school. Princess Emily, a bright student at the Academy, realizes the only way to fix the chaos is to bring back the original fairy, Fairy G. She sets off on a quick adventure to locate Fairy G. and convince her to return, hoping to restore order and undo the magical mishaps. Along the way, Emily learns about teamwork, responsibility, and asking for help.

Quick Summary

If your kid loves princesses, fairies, and a little bit of mischief, Princess Emily and the Substitute Fairy is a quick, entertaining pick. The story shines when substitute Fairy Angora's well-meaning wishes go hilariously wrong, creating a cascade of goofy problems that keep young readers giggling. It's perfect for early elementary readers who are just starting to read chapter books, especially those who enjoy humor and a hint of adventure without too much scariness, and the short, 4,000-word length makes it a breezy pick for reluctant readers. There are a few frantic moments, but they're all light-hearted and resolved quickly, making it a safe choice for sensitive kids. Emily teams up with her classmates to brainstorm silly solutions and learns that asking for help is a strength, not a weakness, as they try to set things right. Fans of the Magic Tree House series will notice the same blend of fantasy and problem-solving, but with a more whimsical, fairy-school vibe.
